Another alternative is to get your stock seat reworked by [http://greatdaytoride.com Spencers Motorcycle Seat Mods]. Spencer re-works your stock one, so it has the same pan and cover. You pay for shipping both ways, and it's either $50 for the foam only or $75 for new foam and orthopedic gel. This gel is solid, like the stuff in better bicycle saddles, so it doesn't go away where you need the padding most. It looks just like the stock seat but feels much better.

*I thought a new seat would be too expensive, but Spencer re-works your stock one, so it has the same pan and cover. You pay for shipping both ways, and it's either $50 for the foam only or $75 for new foam and orthopedic gel. I got the gel upgrade. I HATE most gel since it's packets of goop, but this is solid, so it doesn't go away where you need the padding most. Anyone who's ridden a bicycle for any distance will tell you that the goo packets are bad and the gel matrix is the only way to go.

*And after a 750 mile day... I can definitely suggest Spencer seats to anyone who might be thinking about a new seat. I got the LD gel upgrade, so I can't comment on the foam-only option, but this was the most comfortable I have ever been on the bike at the end of a long ride. Huge difference. It looks just like the stock seat, but feels much different (better).
